About
Who we are
International HR Day was created to celebrate the role HR plays in supporting organisations and the people within them. Since its launch in 2019, the event has grown into a global celebration, bringing together professionals from across the world to share their experiences and achievements. HR professionals are key to making workplaces more inclusive, fostering employee well-being, and enabling organisations to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Working group
The International HR Day working group is tasked with coordinating all activities and events for the day. This group works closely with national associations and organisations, sharing best practices and encouraging participation across borders. Their aim is to promote the role of HR in creating workplaces where people can succeed and feel valued. A separate Event strategy working group works alongside to organise, promote and execute the annual International HR Day global webinar.
Board members
International HR Day is guided by a board of experienced HR leaders from various industries. They ensure that each year’s theme and topics reflect the ongoing needs and challenges of the HR community globally. The board members work together to provide guidance to the Working Group.

History
International HR Day was established in 2019 under the leadership of the European Association of People Management (EAPM) and subsequent support by World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA). International HR Day has since become a global movement recognising the contributions of HR professionals.
Over the years, the event has expanded to include both in-person and virtual celebrations, ensuring that the community from all over the world can take part. Each year, the day highlights new themes that reflect the evolving nature of work and the growing importance of HR and People Management.
